Tex McFaden

Tex McFaden is an easy-going country boy and one of the nicest, truest Southern Gentleman you'll ever meet. He comes from a USMC family with a strong work ethic and a belief in fighting for the rights of others, even at the expense of enormous personal loss. Tex has traveled overseas with the military, serving in Panama in 1989 and in the Persian Gulf in 1990-'91, where he served in both Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, after finishing at the top of his FAOBC class in Fort Sill, OK.  As the top ranking officer in his class, Tex was offered a Regular Army commission and the active duty assignment of his choice. True to nature, Tex selected his dream unit, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), who he was already deployed to Saudi Arabia.While serving in the NCARNG, USAR and US Army over the years, Tex advanced his love and talent for writing by working with public affairs detachments and writing articles for magazines, newpapers, radio and video. He also has extensive early experience as a sports journalist, technical writer and the co-editor for a medical journal.Tex has continued to not only advance his education over the decades, but to also continue to hone his writing in more creative and supportive ways, such as working with individuals suffering from PTSD, particularly veterans of all eras via social media columns and one-on-one correspondence.Today, Tex continues to employ many of the skills that the Army provided in conjunction with his writing. He couples his natural intuition with incredible investigative prowess to unearth the truth on a wide range of topics. Often working with groups that seek his assistance, Tex has continued to further the fight for veterans who have been bullied by others within social groups, veterans groups and the Veterans Health Care System, by verifying their claims against specific people and organizations and providing any support necessary to ensuring that victims are vindicated and that veterans and individuals suffering from PTSD are forewarned about verified individuals and organizations where they might experience interactions that could trigger flashbacks, outbursts of anger, depression, anxiety, homicidal or suicidal ideation.Tex's future goals, aside from charity work for veterans organizations, still include winning the Nobel Prize in Literature and becoming a United States Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry. Clearly, Tex is still following the words of the late Washington Redskin coach, George Allen, who routinely told his players, "Strive for perfection and you will achieve excellence" or perhaps as the US Air Force used to say, "Aim High"... because as the Army adds, "So that if you miss, you'll still hit the target.
